What started out as a boring floral painting that was going nowhere ended up as a whimsical piece of art that I adore. What happened, you ask? I let myself PLAY! I worked and reworked my canvas until I loved every part of it and this is what I made. 

Notice the stars and the seeds. They are scattered throughout the painting, and in fact turn into one other: stars turn into the insides of flowers, which fall out of the flowers and end up in the night sky again. Seeds blow from a tree, swirling around in the night sky, creating galaxies (if you let your imagination play)!

Things are created, then dissolve, then new things are created from that same matter - totally different things from what they were before! This is beautiful to me. Stardust is within us. And one day we will return to the earth and God will have God’s way in reusing the matter of our bodies for other glorious things. So it goes with all of creation. Birth and rebirth. Stars and seeds. Death and resurrection. 

This painting is all about ABUNDANCE! It is about the universe having FUN and it is an invitation for us to participate in it!
