Right Where I Belong (30X40)
Right Where I Belong (30X40)
Just as this frog has a habitat it belongs in, so do you and I. We all need specific places and spaces in order to grow and thrive and flourish.
What are your specific places and spaces? What is your natural habitat?
This painting was painted from a photograph I took at Frederick Meijer Gardens one spring day. The frog was absolutely in its element, and it was an invitation to reflect on what my perfect habitat is. This has led me on a beautiful journey of introspection and asking done very important questions of myself.
Am I thriving where I am at?
Am I surrounded by things that make me feel at home?
Am I in a place that nourishes me and grounds me?
The title of this piece comes from a song that Kermit The Frog sings. It is called “Right Where I Belong”.
“Look at me
Here I am
Right where I belong
I see that face coming back to me
Like an old familiar song
What better place could anyone be?
'Cause you're here with me
It's all I've been looking for
And so much more
And now I'm here
Now you're here
Nothin' can go wrong
'Cause I am here right where I belong!”
